Marty Wilde & The Wildcats

Wednesday 8th April ‘26

Celebrate Marty’s 87th Birthday at the Crooked Billet - all the hits from this absolute legend.

One of the only performing original Rock’n’roll Pioneers in the World today.

Marty began his career in 1957 - and was one of the first British singers to play a leading part in those early formative and groundbreaking ‘Rock’n’roll’ years’. Marty is truly a legendary figure in music and officially celebrates 8 Decades as a hit recording artist and songwriter.

With his own many chart hits, including “Teenager In Love”, “Endless Sleep”,” Donna”,” Sea Of Love ” “Bad Boy” ,”Rubber Ball” ,“Jezebel” plus a host of wonderful hit songs from that era - Marty Wilde and his fabulous band the Wildcats take you back through some of the most exciting musical times this country has ever experienced.  Marty is an accredited songwriter, his songs have been recorded by such artists as Status Quo (Ice In The Sun),Lulu,(I’m A Tiger), The Casuals (Jesamine) Hot Chocolate (You’ll Never Be So Wrong), Peter Shelley (Love Me Love My Dog) Tom Jones (All I Can Say Is Goodbye), Snow Patrol (I Am An Astronaut)

His daughter, Kim Wilde had chart hits with several of his songs Kids In America, Chequered Love, Cambodia, View From A Bridge, Four Letter Word, Rage To Love, and others)

A fantastic evening awaits you from a man who a short while ago was awarded the MBE by the Queen for Services to Music and who in May of 2019 made a welcome return to the British music charts with his top ten hits CD, Dreamboats & Petticoats presents The Very Best Of Marty Wilde and again in October 2020 he made the UK album charts with all-new material on his “Running Together”  album.

In December 2020 he wrote, recorded and produced his first-ever Christmas double A sided single “Christmas Fantasia”/” Christmas All Over The World” recorded with his daughters Kim and Roxanne Wilde.

In April 2024, Marty was number 1in the Heritage Charts with his (then) new single ‘Two Eyes Streaming’, followed by another original song “Rise”, a top 10 hit.

And it seems that Marty shows no signs of stopping yet – Martin Talbot, chief executive, of the Official Charts Company said: “Congratulations to Marty Wilde, who confirms himself as one of the UK’s all-time greats with this very special achievement. It is quite something to be a hitmaker in any decade, so to do so across eight separate decades is quite remarkable.”

Gennaro Castaldo, speaking on behalf of National Album Day and the BPI, comments: “This is a uniquely remarkable achievement by Marty Wilde that is hard to see ever happening again, and which further underlines his legendary status as one of Britain’s great pop icons.”

Speaking on his impressive chart success, Marty Wilde said: “What an honour to make the eight-decade mark, and what a journey it’s been since those first-ever charts way back in the ‘50s. I was inspired from the moment I heard Elvis Presley’s voice, and a year after he hit No1 in the UK charts, I found my debut chart single Endless Sleep had shot to No4.

Marty continues to write, record and tour, A brand new album and EP are due shortly. This is a show not to be missed!
