St. Patrick’s Night

Tuesday 17th March ‘26

Can’t wait! Tuesday 17th March, we’re cooking a HOOLEY of Irish specials for St. Patrick’s. Dublin Bay prawns, I’ll make a Guinness batter, delicious. A feast of wonderful Irish sea/Atlantic sea food. Mussels Molly Malone. Galway oysters we’ll serve in the nude, naked. Alternatively, grilled with bacon & Cooleeney Farmhouse cheese. Boxty - little rösti style potato cakes, delicious with Clonakilty black pudding & a fried duck egg. Bacon chops with cockles, salt beef. Justin our butcher has sourced Irish Dexter rib steaks. Dublin Lawyer - freshly prepared thermidor style. Before browning under the Salamander, ingredients are flambeed with Bushmills whiskey. And of course, Irish Stew. Mutton chops braised until tender with roots & potato. Utopia. We’re serving a little bottle of Jameson’s whiskey with each portion.

Coddle. Chefs get emotional with Coddle: ham hock slowly braised in Irish Harp lager until it falls off the bone. Flavours of leek, parsley & celery. Chunks of potato. Soda bread to accompany. Chefs make pilgrimage to John Kavanagh’s ‘The Gravediggers’ pub in Dublin for Coddle. Bailey’s Irish cream chocolate cheesecake with Bushmill’s ice cream. Artisan Irish cheese. O'Sullivan's blood orange whiskey cake along side our Crooked Billet favourite puds. Top Irish music. The Zac Schulze Gang stormed the show at Ireland’s Ballyshannon Rory Gallagher Festival - thrilled having them at The Crooked Billet. St. Patrick’s - lots of Thin Lizzy. Van Morrison. Pogues. U2. Undertones & Rory Gallagher.
